1876 WaddingRecalled AtFamily ReunionThe August 4, 1876 marriage of Chess McKinney of Msysfleld and Lou Smith of Rockdale in the log courthouse of Cameron and Milam County Is remembered each year as descendants gather for a reunion In Cameron on the first Sunday in each August.Seventy-two of them attended the reunion August 7, enjoying visitation, fellowship and sharing blessings together. A great grandson, Allen Dickey of Denton, broughtthe devotion. ......The McKinneys met in the family home as long as their parents lived and after their deaths the familyhas gathered in the Cameron CityPark pavilion.Only three daughters are living today - - Mrs Lola Phipps of Killeen Mrs. Birdie Dodson of Waco and Mrs. Myrtle Francis of Killeen Many grandchildren , great grandchildren and great great grandchildren are living today.Last year was truly a centennial year for the McKinney family as well as the nation.
