From the- Quaker branch in Ohio John Heald came: to Iowa in about 1850. Allen and Isaac Heald. in about 1856 -and Ezra Heald in about 1870. Also Lindley Heald apd he and Ezra, both of West Branch, arc the only BurvIvors of the original sot tiers, but the decedants have Intermarried and the reunion held every two years brings together many prominentnames of the vicinity, such as 0 Ll-phant. Herst, Branson, Thomas, Etnbree, Sharpies®, etc.One of the interesting- actions of the meeting was to send congratulations to Grandmother Lydia Shnrpless, at Whittier, Calif,, who is 102 years of. age. Grandfather William Heald rtf Middleton, Ohio, also lived to the ripe j old age of HU. A characteristic of the; family is their long life and it was much commented upon.A number of interesting talks were given relative to :the family. history, and also ^ number of letters were rood from relatives in various states expressing regret at not being able to attend. The business session was held in the afternoon following a sumpLileus dinner, served in the pavilion. It being presided over by William Heald c£ West Branch, president, with Mrs, Eva H.
