BOY WANDERED AWAY.Frank Betters, Jr.. the seven years old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Betters, was the cause of considerable excite ment yesterday afternoon and last night. Mr. Betters in company with Joseph l^amoreaux and the hoy drovos to Washington yesterday morning after berries. When in the vicinity of Ashley lake the men hitched the horse to a tree and leaving the boy in the wagon went into the woods to pick berries. They returned after a time and the party aD* their dinner to- j gethcr, the men again leaving the hoy and going in search of more berries and some water which tlie boy wanted.Fpon the return of the father, the hoy was missing and no trace of him could he found. A force of 50 Italians are at work on the dam at the lake and fears were entertained that they ! had done away with the !*.! pon the i return of the father to town a searcn-Ttig party was organized and the town aroused. The father scoured the j woods in the vir ility of where the horse was hitched until 10:30 o’clock last night and another party of 40 or 50 men started for the woods at 12:30 o'clock.Later members of the party were notified that the hoy had wandered j to a farm house of John Kiser, wdihh was about four miles from where thehorse was tied.
