1 * .Over-50 Club to Celebrate 30th Birthdayug* The Over-50 Club turn* 30 today.And for the 17thstraight year long-time member Bessie Trenarywill give a brief history of Over-50 Club at thegroup's Founder’s Daycelebration to be held at8.m. today at the Senior itizens Center.“I’m 75 now, and I oined when I was 51,” rs. Trenary says. During the last 24 years, Mrs.Trenary has held everyoffice except that of treasurer. She has served nine terms as recording secretary and eight as president. She has beenin the croun because she has enjoyed itso much.“I have gained a lot from the club,” she says. The first Frida ______inof each month is sandwich night; the secondgnt: the third, birth-mday dinner night; and the fourth, cookie night.Birthday dinner nights recognixe all memberswith birthdays that month. “They alt at thebirthday table, and someone bakes a birthday cake, says Mrs. TrenaryAccording to Mrs. Trenary, Stewart Stanleyfounded the organizationin 1952 after deciding that older people like his widowed motner and mother-in-law needed a social activity to attend each week.Mrs. Trenary says that 150 people attended the charter meeting of the Over-50 Club held on Sept. 5, 1952, There are now 178 active members and 12 life members, those no longer able to attend meetings.
