Local Drivers Getting Ready For Trenton Speedway FeatureTRENTON, N.J. - Start with the 24th annual Race of Champions on Sunday, Oct. 13 and add the inaugural Carling 100 I-ate Model Sportsman event slated for Saturday Oct. 12, and you’ve got a Weekend of Champions at Trenton International Speedway.New England cars and drivers are expected to play prominent roles for the weekend that actually begins with registration and practice on Thursday. Oct. 10. Time trails for both' are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11.Both .races carry a special NASCAR sanction, meaning each will have a direct bearing on the final national modified and late model sportsman standings. Last year a win in the Race ofChampions clinched the national modified title for New York State’s Richie Evans.Fifty-five cars will start the modified race with 40 going in the Carling event.Traditionally a sellout, fans are requested to watch their favorite racing publication for ticket forms or write to Race of Champions, Trenton Speedway, Box 2463, Trenton.
