DRW Crews Combating BeaversPITTSFIELD — Public Works Department employes are keeping busy combating a colony of beavers who are resentful of the city's new project on the sandwash reservoir and continue to close the newly-created conduit as fast as the workers can build it. On Tuesday workmen burned nearly a ton of material taken from a dozen locations along the new job.Trapping and other methods have failed to discourage the animals and the department is seeking some other action in order to clear the conduit, designed to allow an unobstructed flow from sandwash to Famam Dam.* * *
