August 18th. but 1 A* will entertain at a family dinner Sunday, August 17th. when their son and family from Waterloo will be present. The wedding date is also the birth anniversary of their son. James IIMr. McMechan was born June 21»t, 1863. at Castlewellan countyDown. Ireland, and came to this country in 1881, ettline at Galesburg. Illinois. There he worked for the Brown Greenhouses, having learned this trade in his homeland. It was in Galesburg, that he met and married Wmnifrcd Park1thiAnMiof121briSaamofexlt;bripiter, who was born June 24th. 1867 |GThReFiithlt;anashlt;shiin Galesburg, to pioneer residents,Mr and Mrs, Robert Parker Mr. and Mrs. McMechan were married August 18. 1886. at the Parker home in Galesburg by the Rev. Clarke They lived in Galesburg until 1888 when they moved to Boone, where they have since resided. In 1883. Mr McMechan started work in his brother, John’s. ros drug store, where he was employ- an ed until he became owner and bli manager of the McMechan Drug of Store at 815 Story street, which he sold in 1*19. paBoth Mr. and Mrs McMechan ne belong to the local Presbyterian a church and have been active in w! church and «cial affairs of the w! community. Mi McMechan is a to| member of the Masonic orders in co Boone and the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine ce of Des Moines and both he and P’rMrs. McMechan arc members of |pathe Order of Eastern Star.To the union four children were fo born, two having passed away, ca John in infancy and Winifred White in 1935 James Jr.. live., in BfWaterloo and a daughter.
