HyndmanReunionA reunion of the descendants of John A. and Minnie Hyndman was held Sunday, August 2nd at Rapid City Legion Hall with some 70 in attendance, and representing the wives and children of the couple’s three sons, Ralph A., Frank S., and Joseph L., (their daughter Annie and her husband Wilbur Smyth of New ■ Westminster, B.C. were unable to be present), Gladys Hyndman of Hamiota, also was unable to attend.Daughter-in-law Isohel Hyndman had compiled a family tree, dating back to the late 1770’s, which was on display, also displayed were wedding photos, family pictures and other memorabilia. Aunt Issy was given a well deserved vote of thanks for her efforts. Ken and Graeme Hyndman, Nyail and Timer Hyndman and Charlie Christie all did much to help make the afternoon get-together so successful.Scrolls of appreciation were made by Joanie Garbutt (nee Buckingham) which were presented to Isobel and Laura Hyndman. Elgin • Hyndman accepted his mother Glady’s scroll. Larry Sebastian came the furthest distance (Calgary, AB.), Laura Hyndman was the eldest member, 91 years, and her great, greatv granddaughter, 7 monthold Lizann Garbutt was the»youngest member present.' Others arrived from Spirit Wood, SK., Flin Flon, Brandon, Nee-pawa, Oak River, Rivers and Rapid City. Two sets of cousins, Fred and Ormand Hyndman and their wives were in attendance (from Cardale and Rivers).Nyail Hyndman urged the younger generation ‘to remember their roots, families are so important, and to keep in touch with one and another’. A smorg supper, lots of visiting withcameras flashing, another reunion came to a coneUlusion.
