It shows Sallie Romes (right) winning the 2:18 trot Thursday in 2:06*4, record time for a trotter on the local track and equal to the state trotting record for a half mile track. Sallie, owned by Allen Bros., of Des Moines, and driven by Ed Allen, was forced to break the record in order to beat Morono J., at the left in the picture, owned by Charles Campbell, ofJcrseyville, 111.*••;*: /A* :•'* wx;Y*V.-.v-ANMv»:V.THE LEADING MONEY WINNER of the harness racingmeet is shown here. It is Kinney Direct, owned by J. B. Reynolds, of Kansas City, and driven by Rupe Parker. This horse carried off nearly $1,000 in prize money by winning the 2:10 pace Wednesday and the 2:15 pace Friday. In the two races, Kinney Direct, one of the fastest pacers in the country, won six straightheats.EQUALS SALLIE S RECORD. Sallie Romes’ trotting record, set Thursday, was equalled Friday when Betty Ann Maxcy stepped the 2:10 class in 2:06*4. Betty Ann is shown above winning the second heat of this rice, with John Belwin, previous holder of teh local trotting record, second. Betty Ann, owned by G. S. Davis, of Tulsa, Okla., won three straight heats, which, made up the fastest three-heat race ever trotted here.Vy*-
