Dascendents of First Seniors Will Hold Family Reunion in October.One hundred and twenty-live years ago Thomas ltteo landed on the Ohio river at Witten’s landing above ♦Sistersville and ^entered two hundred acres of river bottom land where hereared a family of children. The mother's maiden name was Dicker-son, a sister to the Indian hunter, Kinsey Dickerson. Among the otherchildren horn to them was oneI#'' ft ; *Thomas Witten, horn in 177ft, April 3rd. and at the age of manhood lie married Miss Bucannon. To them were horn Elizabeth Witten, May 17, 1HOO, and Phillip Witten Nov. 19, 1*07.Afterwards Thomas Jr. conc’uded to move westward and while his wiferode horseback carrying Elizabeth behind and Phillip on her lap, Thomas walked, carrying gun and bundle in hand, and landed at what is now Byesvllie, some two hundred feet Dora the old Central mine location. There beside a large sycamore log they made their wigwam of hark covered over poles leaning up against the huge log and lived, entering the Byesvllie territory and building ahouse at that po^nt beside a wonderful spring which was sunk by the mining from under it.Thomas died at the eariy date of December 19, 1823, leaving the widow and a large family of children. Their married children, grandchildren, great grandchildren make a circle of many relations who will hold a reunion commencing Oct. 5, 15*07, at the home of Mrs. Joseph Steele and Bishop Witten, of North Baltimore, Wood county, Ohio.All are cordially invited that Know themselves related to the Wittens.
