Makins celebrate 50 years togetherMr. and Mrs. Carl Makin of Colver have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner and open house at Colver Presbyterian Church.^/ ' *,^ ^Mr. Makin and the former Irene Mae Toth were married July 6,1952, at Mount Union EUB Church, Alver-da, by the Rev. J. Howard Smith.Mr. Makin was born Oct. 1,1925, in Strongstown, son of Merritt and Gertrude Makin.Mrs. Makin was born April 7,1931, in Strongstown, daughter of Joseph and Esther Toth.Mr. Makin retired after 33 years’ service from Cambria Indiana Railroad. *' ' ‘He served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946. * y. J./Mrs. Makin was employed by Jamesway Department Store.The Makins are members of Colver Presbyterian Church.They are the parents of four children: Dr. Richard Makin, and wife,Mr. and Mrs. MakinGail, Curwensville, Clearfield County; Bruce Makin, and wife. Janet, Ebensburg; and Cathy, wife of Kevin Bodenschatz, Johnstown. A son, David, is deceased.There are 10 grandchildren.
