(Special)—At the well attended public meeting held in the courthouse last Monday night, called by the board of county commissioners, ways and means of conserving the county funds was discussed.Nothing was decided on, but a number of idea* were brought out and may be used in making out the budget.The Rev. John Hargrave of Las Vegas, state Baptist missionary, was in Goldfield Monday. Twenty summer schools have been conducted in this end of the state under his supervision. Miss Barbara David and Miss Marcia Mclntire have been conducting the churchschool in Goldfield end will conclude the two-week session Friday night with a program in the church. Rev. Mr, Hargrave plans to retire as a missionary and will take a pastorate in Sparks, where he will preach in Emmanuel First Baptist Church beginning in September.Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lon car celebrated their son's first birthday by coming to Goldfield from their home in Tonopah and playing hosts to a dinner party in the home of Robert Paul's grandmother, Mrs. N. P. Moncar. Those enjoying the feast prepared by Mrs. Robert Lon-car were Mr. and Mrs. John Loncar and their five children, and Steve Loncar from Tonopah, and Mrs.Xniea Baird and her three children, Lydia, Norah and Ben, Mr. and Mrs. ,Jack Manhire and their young Idaughter, Jsanne, George Gumb-msnn and Mrs. N. P. Loncar and the little guest of honor, Robert Paul, and his parents. Little Paul was the recipient of many lovely gifts as well as some money.Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shlllington, who have been making their home on North Fifth Avenue, have moved to a residence at the corner of Crook and Bellevue Streets. They conduct the bar in the Fells Building and are making preparation to put in a partition and will open a lunch counter as soon as the partition is completed.Ed Davison spent several days at Argentite, repairing roads. This property is now employing 23 men ana a cook house has been established under the direction of Mrs. A. C. Anderson.August Anderson, well-known Goldfield miner who has been employed at the Argentite, is incapaci-taied on account of a bite of an unknown insect or possibly a black widow spider.Lawrence Belanger of Tonopah, who was formerly employed in Goldfield, spent Sunday here.
