Will Train Adults As Auto MechanicsNew Class, for 16, Will Be Seventh Here.—Two More Manpower Classes.A newly-funded class for training adults as auto mechanics will start the last of August or first of September at the Chil-licothe R-2 area Vocational-Technical school, Roder Nyberg, director of vocational education, said today.This will be the seventh adult class in auto mechancis to be taught through the local school system, and is in addition to automechanics instruction for high school and post-high school students. Lloyd Bent is the instructor.The Department of Labor is approving a $38,743 grant for 32 weeks of training of 16 unemployed persons, according to a weekend announcement by Senators Stuart Symington and Edward V, Long and Congressman William E. Hull.Enrollment of the 16 will be through the State Division of Employment Security. Students may be from throughout the state.Two adult Manpower Training classes are presently underway at the ChiUicothe Vocational-Technical school. There are 13 students in a refrigeration and heating class taught by John Shumay and 12 in a welding class taught by Earl Jones.Mr. Nyberg said the curriculum for the 1968-69 year forhigh school and post-high school students of the ChiUicothe area is pretty well worked out and will be announced soon.
