Hartshorns Observe 50th AnniversaryAn open house at the First Christian Church honored Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Hartshorn, 1322 Alder, who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary June 22. The party was hosted by the couple’s six children and their spouses: Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hartshorn, Idaho Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Leroy (Shirley) Thomoch, Pocatello; Mr. and Mrs. Orivlle (Grace) Reece, Thtonia; Mr and Mrs. Richard Hartshorn, Rathdrum, Mr apd Mrs. David Hartshorn, Driggs; and Mr and Mrs. Harold (Jane) Beck, Clinton, Mont.Married at Gillette, Wyo., in 1926, Hartshorn and the former Betty Grund lived in Sandpoint from 1936-45 and moved to Driggs for a period of years before returning to Sandpoint. They have 28 grandchildren a nd four great-grandchildren.The triple-tiered anniversary cake was decorated with yellow sweet peas, doves and bells. On top were twin gold wedding bells tied with gold-flecked white net and white lily-of-the-valley.The reception was served by the ladies of the First Christian Church assisted by the daughters, daughters-in-laws, and granddaughters of the couple
