These members of the 1931 graduating class of Princeton High School gathered for their 45th reunion on Saturday evening. In the fourth row from the left are Thomas Fierst, Shelby Stevens, Thomas Crain, George Malone, Victor Market Fred Stevens, Ernest Farney and Charles Martin.Princetonclass1931holdsMembers of the 1931 graduating class of Princeton High School met Saturday evening, at the Princeton Country Club commemorating the 45th anniversary of their graduation.Twenty-nine of the seventy member class were present.Marian Woods Minth, chairman of the decorating committee, carried out the Bicentennial theme with flags, red, white and blue balloons, candles, and red and white roses in milk glass bud vases. A large sign over the fireplace with the words, “Welcome, Class of 1931” inscribed also was a part of the decoration.From 5:30 to 7 p.m. the time was spent in renewing friendships and reminiscing. Punch was served from a red, white and blue tea table decorated with a large red candle and small colonial figurines.Music was played during the evening with recordings ofpopular 1931 songs.A buffet dinner was served at 7 p.m. and table grace was given by Fred Stevens.Following the dinner, Charles Martin acted a master of ceremonies. Letters were read from Alice Marie Dwyer, Jacksonville, Fla.; Miss Flora Saupert, Evansville, former class sponsor, and Charles McConnell, New Albany, former teacher and coach.Miss Edna Walker was the only teacher who was able to attend.During the evening, a telephone call was received from Velva Harmon Coomes, former class member who is now residing in Florida.A memorial for the sixteen deceased class members was conducted by Mary Frenette Igou and Maxine BiskerHoughland.Door prizes of silver Bicentennial dollars were awarded to Tom Fierst, Charles Martin,Louise Chappel and Marie LePage.
