The first of August is an interesting day with thefriends of human liberty, and more especially with thecolored portion of our people, being the anniversary ofthe consummation of the noble objects of W i lb* r. force,Clarkson and other philanthropists of England.The day was celebrated by a large number of free! colored people in Cincinnati, by an Excursion to Glen*j dale, by Railroad, fifteen Cars of gay hearts being in theTrain. At Glendale not less than two thousand peoplewere assembled. At the stand the exercises consisted■* ot Prayer, reading of the Declaration of Independence,I an Oration, Singing, Ac. Every thing passed off pleasantly, and wehave no doubt those who participated in these festivitieswent to their several places of business with cheerfulhearts, promising themselves much joy in that “goodtime coining,’’ when the Slave population of the UnitedStates .-'hall celebrate their emancipation.Mr. John B. Lott, of this City, has just returned fromChatham, C. W., where he participated in a pleasantcelebration of a similar kind.
