The schools in each area are required to take this three weeks period at the same time, because of transportation reasons.The Leadership School for the county teachers in-service training program for the coming year will be at Austinville School Aug. 12 beginning at 9 a.m.The county teachers in service planning committee has set Sept. 23, 24 and 25 for the county-wide teachers’ workshop. The committee felt that since schools will open one week earlier this year that teachers would be in summer school. TOo, the weather would likely be more comfortable at that time of year.The county board of education passed a resolution stating that the Alabama school code must be followed in that a child who if six years of age on or before Oct 1st shatt be entitled to admission to the public elementary schools at the opening of such schools for that school year.**
