Thirty-two years ago, this week, the present proprietor flfst purchased the Democrat office. The first one to pay him subscription was Mr. John \V. Walburn, of Nappanee. He was always prompt In renewing his subscription on the first dav of August. Since his death his daughter, Mrs. Eliza J. Brundagc, has continued the paper, and is equally as prompt in renewing as soon as the subscription expires.
