Mr. Walter who has ft large farm Just this side of tlio Goerllt* saloon was driving from hi* private driveway across the tracks of the electric railway company when the accident occurred. Eio luid Intended to get somo cut barley fiom a tiact of land belonging to him Just across the tracks and Incldcntly wanted to call on a neighbor, John Helsdorf. who lives east of tho Walter farm, to get Bomo malt.The horso which ho was driving had Juat reached tho tracks whon the freight car In charge of Motormnn William Potter and Conductor Flentjl came down the tracks. Tho horse managed to get across and sutforcd not so much as'a sciocth Tho cur collided with tho wagon near the scat and smashed It into splinters, hurling tho driver under tho fender and dragging blru a distance of thlr-ty to forty feet before the car could bo brought to a stop. The debris of the wagon was removed and the body of tho man who had been killed Instantaneously was extricated from tho twisted fender and permitted to 11© In tho position in which he was at tho time tho car was broughtto a stop.The coronor and two physicians were Immediately summoned and wore takon to the place of accident with Superintendent llaramet on a special car. Tho physicians attending tho caso wove Dr. O. B. B. Bock nnd Dr. H. C. Itclch. They pronounced tho man to have been killed Instantaneously. The body was then romoved to tlui home of the deceased and taken from there on a freight car to the undertaking rooms of M. Kroos Son on Michigan uvonuo.car that if a certain button would be pressed the whistle would sound. Consequently their attention waB attracted when the whistle sounded Mr. Voclker states that thiB must havo .been about 150 feet from the private drive way of the Walter farm.May th Al Si C WJua last tIng tPHYSICIANS’ EVIDENCE.Dr. Bock and Dr. Reich stated to a representative of the Daily Press this morning that any one of many of the Injuries sustained by the deceased was sufficient to cause death. They state that the man must have been killed instantly as his thorax was crushed. They stated the in-Juries to bo as told above. When they arrived on the scene the car had backed away from the body a distance of several rods. The wreckage of tho wagon was Btrewed all along the road. Suddenly he dropped to his knees and cried, Oh, Bill. Then I heard a crash and the car stopped. Flentjl jumped from the car. Wo removed the debris from the twisted and broken fender and backed the car away ft ora the body. This wa9 about thirty fe'et from the crossing.
