Cincinnati Art Association.We are to have a fine art exhibition this spring, After all. How much we are indebted to Colonel lt;3- W. Nichols, formerly of the New York Evening Post, for it, will lie known in due time. It is jaufBolent now to say that a considerable number of painting* are on the walls of Wiswell's new art gallery, and that the arrangements are already so far completed that the exhibition Vrill te opened to the public on Monday next.It was thought a very opportune occasion to revive the much-talked-of project of a Fine Art Association for Cincinnati, and accordingly there was held an informal meeting yesterday, at the hall, at which, among others, were present Messrs W. B. Probaaco. Joseph Longworth, P. H. Burt,Jas. Dexter, Edmund Dexter, Rufus King,-Xannann, Col. Q. W. Nichols, William Wiswell, and such well-known artists as Messrs. Webber, Aubrey, Quick, Mosler and Duncanson.Mr. Longworth briefly stated the object of the 'meeting to be the formation of an %rt association for the encouragement of art, the holding of regular art exhibitions, and ultimately the acquisition of such art treasures as will form a permanent art gallery in Cincinnati.After some informal conversation on the subject. a committee, contlsting of Messrs. C. T.Webber, G. W. Nichols, P. H. Burt, J. Dexter and J. Quick, was appointed to prepare a plan of organisation and to report at a meeting subject to call of the committee.
