BACOS seeks youth to aid 3rd, 4th gradersThe Black Americans Citizens of Sa-lina (BACOS) organisation is looking for a college age youth to help children in grades 3*4 this summer,The position, which pays $750 a month, is funded by the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act (CETA) and will continue until Aug, 27.The person chosen for the position will work with Hawthorne Elementary School librarian Mrs, Elizabeth Wilson in helping children from Hawthorne, Sunset School and Martin Luther King Jr. Child Care Center. The purpose of the program is to help children “get started on the right foot so they won’tbe dropouts,” according to Geraldine Briscoe, BACOS president.Applications for the position should be sent to Mrs. Briscoe, 631 N. 8th, Prospective employees will be interviewed by Mrs, Wilson, May 15 is the application deadline. Application forms are available from the CETA officer at the Salina Job Opportunity Center, 10th' and Ash.Applicants do not have to be college graduates, Mrs. Briscoe said, and only need to be interested in working with children.
