I.9COAST SCOUTS GIVE SERVICERendered Valuable Assistance in Ya*rious Ways During Port Celtfcn* tion Last Week.The Boy Scouts from Biloxi, Pas* Christian and Gulfport rendered valuable community service over the past week-end during the Port Celebratiou and State Band Contests at Gulfport,and those in charge of the various events of these celebrations are high in praise of the yfork of the Scouts.Assistance in'handling the crowds working in organizing the parade and keeping it moving, guides on the pier, information at the destroyer, work with the bands' especially at the fair grounds Saturday afternoon, serving as pilots for visitors, meeting all trains and aiding in getting baggage off andon trains, messengers for various^ *things, are among the services rendered by the Scouts.A total of t23 hours of communityservice was done by Gulfport Scout*, according to Ik ’Frank row a, cityschools superintendent and member of the Scout committee. This servicea rwas distributed as follows: Troop-02 of which H, H. Kersh is scoutmaster, 10 Scouts working with *. total of 211} hours of service; Troop201 of which Dimmer Simplon -s scoutmaster, 10 Scouts working, 205} hours; Troop 200, Billy Hinds Scoutmaster, 10 Scouts working, 2W hours. This work was from Thursday noon to Saturday after midnight.Biloxi Scouts had approximately 90 hours of community service, there being about 15 Scouts from Troop 213 of which Albert It a gus in is scoutmaster, and. about 15 Sconts from Troop 212 of which E. P. Wilkes is scoutmaster, with boys from J3roop work*ng about 45 hours.The hours of service done by tic* Pass Christian Scouts, Troop 209 of which Iter. GirauD Jones is scoutmaster, had about 25 Scouts on duty from S :30 Saturday morning to 12:10 that night, 'thus approximately 3S7hours of community service was done by the group.
