Mi. and Mrs. Christian Schmidt, the parents ofGus. the alderman, Herman, Ernst and Mrs. C. Lentz celebrated their golden wedding yesterday and it was made an occasion of great pleasure | to children and grand children. Mr. j and Mrs. Schmidt came to America in 1854, and their departure from Germany was enough to make Pan come out of his long hiding place in the Black Forest and play a lament, for never did Faderland witness a more musical quartet leaving the country of Handel, Lizt, Beethoven, Bach and the rest than came over with that family, which happily directed its steps to our citv. We wouldn't wonder if the an-niversary was graced with some splendid music.
