Mr. and Mrs. JarrettChester Chet” and Madelyn (Barlow) Jarrett of Syracuse recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary by taking a tripby Amtrak train to Toronto, Canada, a gift from their family.While in Toronto, the couple -went sightseeing and attended a performance of ‘The Phantom of the Opera.”Madelyn and Chester were married April 30,1932, at the West Genesee Methodist Church parsonage in Syracuse.Chet, a native Syracusan, grew up on Tipperary Hill and attendedVocational High School. He retired in 1976 from Lamson Corporation after 44 years of service. vMadelyn was bom in Syracuse, graduated from Nottingham High School, and attended Powelson Business Institute. She retired in 1980 from the Syracuse City Police Department where she worked in the Uniform Bureau as a secretary to various deputy chiefs who headed the bureau.The couple are members of St. Paul's Methodist Church, Valley Drive. They are both active in the Masonic Order and the Order of Eastern Star. Madelyn is also a member of Uderim Temple No. 15, Daughters of the Nile.The Jarrett family includes son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Fay jarrett of Mareellus; daughter and son-in-law, Nadeen and Jack Cheevers of Endwell; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren
