Hekkers celebrateMr. and Mrs Verne Hekkers of 2808 Templeton Gap Road will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary from 1 to 4 p.m. May 3 with an open house at 2911 Flintridge Square.The Hekkers were married May 26, 1941, in Raton, N.M. Mrs. Hekkers is the former Iva Smith.Hekkers is employed by Hewlett-Packard and Mrs. Hekkers is employed by October Mountain Gifts.They have three children, Les Hekkers of Colorado Springs, Ron Hekkers of Golden and Sherri Deetz of Beaver Dam, Wis.; and seven grandchildren.
