Death of an Old and Respected Citizen.The death of Mr. Jacob Pfeiffer occurred Sunday evening at fifteen minutes past eight o'clock at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. Frank Yelden, No. 55 Hart street. The decease! was a 1 old and respected citizen of this community and died at the age of 57 years. He was born in Ram me 1 abac h, Ba varia, and came to America thirty-seven years ago. He resided in New Yotk until the year 1870, then came to Dubuque and has lived here ever since. The death of his wife occurred nine months ago.Mr. Pfeiffer was a brick layer by trade and an excellent workman. He was a robust, heavy-built mau when in life and had not experienced a day of sickness until the illness which caused his death. Home three months ago he met with an accident, and it is thought that the injuries received hastened his demise. He leaves four sons and one daughter, John, Jacob Jr., and Henry Pfeiffer redding here, George Pfeiffer of Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Frank Yelden. The funeral will take place from the residence of his son-in-law, this (Tuesday) afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment will be at Linwood. His son, Mr. George Pfeiffer, of Toledo, Ohio, was advised of his illness and came on the late Chicago, Burlington and Northern train, too late t6see his father before he died.
