Libau Couple\Observe 25thWAnniversaryitmmoMr and Mrs Qifford Jonas-scm of libau district were honor- tJw? ed at a surptiae party an ftr ^occasion of their Silver Wedding ^ Ajwuversary on Saturday. March u,31st. when a large group of rne l friends and relatives gathered Ma , for a social evening in the Sel- vie kirk Lutheran Hall.j The honored guests were led r* to the head table by Mr and loc Mrs. Charles Kenny oI East Sel- life kirk, to the music of the Wed- Pu ding March played by Mrs. W. | Vo®?n The table was centred with a lovely three-tiered wedding cake and lighted tapers.! Mr. Kenny who was Master of Ceremonies made the presentation of a Television Set and silver bowl on behalf of the guests, and from their children. Mr. and Mrs. Jonasson received a chest of silver flatware. They were al-so the recipients of a silver sugar and cream set from the Sig-urdur family of Camp Morton.]shiinwhry!IIMr. Fred Helwer spoke a few55 Cwords of congratulations and good wishes on behalf of their many friends and neighbors.A short muscial program was enjoyed with a vocal solo by Carol Jonasson. a vocal duet by | Lorraine and Joey Stephanson, and a piano accordion and banjo duet by the Kopanski brothers.Following lunch, the evening was spent in dancing. jHostesses were Mesdames W. Larner, W, Chamberlain, Lillian McKeag, R, Jonasson, H. A. McNeil, J. Sigurdur, J. Jonasson,E. Johnson, W. Vogen, Ola Carter, H. Jonasson, C. Kenny, H. Kossack, J. Weiss, S. Dear, Runa Johnson, Mrs. T. Partridge and Miss Bjorg Christianson.Assisting were Mike Yurkiw,H. A. McNeil, Harry Kossack, Charles Kenny and Fred Hel-W«r. ■ 3BSjMr. and Mrs. Jonasson have lived in the district all their married life, being one of the partners in the Jonasson family cooperative farm. They have eight children - Dallas, in Flin Flon, Joan in Winnipeg, Larry in Selkirk, and Jack, Agnes, Walter. 111 Shirley and Billy at home.
