Market.MEDAL IS AWARDEDLESLIE PELTIERPacific Society Honors Del-phos AstronomerAdditional honors have been conferred upon Leslie C. Peltier, amateur astronomer, residing near Del-phos who has received the comet medal of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, according to announcement of Dr. William H. Wright, director of Lick observatory at Mt. Hamilton, Cal. The award was made for his independent discovery of Wilk’s comet Feb. 27.Peltier discovered the comet while star-gazing from his home-made observatory east of Delphos, the same night that the Polish astronomer, Wilk, found it. Because of the difference in longitude, Wilk’s report was made first-.Other honors have been given to Peltier, not the least being in 1933 when he was given the first merit award certificate and a cash award of the American Association of Variable Star Gazers at Cambridge, Mass.
