The plate held meat loaf, potato and fruit salad, various kinds of sandwiches, olives, pickles, potato chips, angel food cake and iced tea. Following the sumptuous feast a business session was held. At this time the president, Mrs. Geo. Rogge, presided and quite a number of committees were appointed to do various things.A social hour followed at which time the class song, “Take My Life and Let It Be”, was sung along with a number of other songs. The next social of the class will be held on thefirst Monday in May, The type of entertainment and place it will be held will be announced at a later date.Those present at the social Monday evening were Mrs. Stanley Haver, the teacher, Mrs. Geo. A beautiful three tiered wedding cake in white bearing the years, 1881-1931, in gold formed the centerpiece of the lace covered dining table. Streamers of gold and .white were gracefully draped from the cake to the corners of the table. Dare and Rev. and Mrs. H. H. Dare formed the receiving line. After greeting and congratulating the bride and groom the guests registered in the bride's book, after which time they were ushered to the dining room for refreshments. Mrs. T. C. Douglas presided over the punch bowl at the buffet.After being served with fruitpunch, ice cream and angel food squares were served to the guests. The cake squares in white bore the wedding dates in gold and place fav-/ ors of sweet peas tied with gold rib-^ bon were used.A very entertaining program was rendered. Mrs. Henry Messer gave an original poem of the honorees, wedding day fifty years ago. The orchestra consisting of Mrs. S. M. Purcell, Sammie Ruegg, Stuart Purcell, Raymond and Joe Mrazek and Roger Butler, gave several very good /umbers.Tom Douglas, Jr., and H. E. Dare, Jr., assisted by Mr. Butler at the piano gave an instrumental duet afterwhich time little Miss Virginia Beth Dare sang, “Golden Wedding Bells” and “Put on Your Old Gray Bonnet” with her mother, Mrs. H. H. Dare, at the piano. Mary Jo and Mildred Winston rendered a very pretty piano duet. At 7:30 Virginia Beth Dare came in to the strains of a wedding march, played by Mr. Butler, and presented the bride with a beautiful white bouquet.Later in the evening Messrs.
