Leonard Van Leuvens mark Golden Wedding anniversaryMr. and Mrs. Leonard VanLeuven, 26100 Mission road,celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently in the same house in which they were married and in which they have lived almost their entire married life.Judge Abner McCrary, an uncle of Mr. Van Leuven, officiated at the wedding of Opal Smith, from Warsaw, Mo., and Leonard Van Leuven, member of a pioneer Mission area family, April 16, 1927.Their son and daughter and spouses, Norma (Mrs. Earl) Tunell and Richard Van Leuven, both of Redlands, were hosts for an anniversary partyApril 17, attended by approximately 175 guests.Among the guests were several who had also attended the wedding 50 years ago. They were Mr. and Mrs, Leo McCrary of Yucaipa, Mae McConnell of Orange and Mrs. R. M. Van Leuven of Bryn Mawr. Hale Paxton, who was an infant but who was taken to the wedding, was another anniversary guest.Mr. Van Leuven, a rancher, also was an employe of San Bernardino County for about 40 years, retiring 11 years ago.In addition to their son and daughter, the Van Leuvens now have six grandchildren.
