FLORENCE DOTTERER — A busy mother and grandmother, she has 75 descendants. On April 10 her ten sons and daughters, their husbands and wives entertained at a surprise party on her 75th birthday.Lamar's Mrs. Dotterer Is Industrious 75-PluskLAMAR — One of the most industrious ladies of this community has recently turned 75, but is not letting the years put a stop to her activity.Mrs. Florence Dotterer has made dozens of quilts and braided rugs since she left the family farm and moved here 16 years ago following the death of her husband, Beza Dotterer.What -really keeps her “step-pin’ ” is her growing family of 10 children, and the 31 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Several times a yearall the descendants gather somewhere big enough to hold them all, to celebrate at a family reunion where she is guest of honor.On her 75th birthday, April 10, however, only the children came to the dinner at Bill and Evie’s in her honor, and the evening celebration at herhome. At that, it was quite an- - - ,, — — - ■ ■ — -occasion, for it came as a surprise to Mrs, Dotterer.Children, with husbands and wives made up the dinner party. These were Earl Dotte-er, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Dotterer, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Dotterer and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dotterer, all of Mill Hall R. D,; Mr. .and Mrs. Joseph Hartle, Sr., Bellefonte R. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dotterer, Brookville; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dotterer, Lamar; Mr. and Mrs. William MeClin-fcick, Salona; Mr. and Mrs Joseph Hayes, Maekeyviile, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Po-rter, Hublers-burg.Mrs. Florence Dotterer was bora and reared at Swissdale. All her married life until the death of her husband, she lived on the farm now known as Dotterer Farms, which, after Mr. Dotterer’s death, she sold to Earl and Ralph, the sons who now operate it.
