Eastchester LWV To Hear Head Of F reedom ProgramNext Wednesday, April 27, Mrs. Charlotte von Stein of New York City will be the luncheon speaker at the annual meeting of the League of Women Voters of Eastchester to be held at the Parkway Casino in Tuckahoe.Mrs. von Stein, a graduate of University of Buffalo, is executive secretary of the nationwide Freedom Agenda Program which aims to “stimulate the formation of local committees which will organize discussion groups on individual liberty.” The plan is the result of consultations with many national organizations, sponsored by a grant from the fund for the Republic and the Carrie Chapman Catt Fund. Already small and large community groups are making a study of our individual liberties. The Eastchester LWV has initiated a freedom agenda project, Mrs. Israel Rothman, chairman.Mrs. Von Stein, for four years a member of the board of LWV, Colorado' Springs, recently spent a year in-Washington, D.C., as a full time volunteer for one of the political parties, and has two sons, one of whom is majoring in political economy.The annual business meeting of the League at 12 Noon will precede the luncheon.
