Lidbrtit.—Three of the indi^-viauais to whom the State had set apart quarters in tho Penitentiary, were ungra-tnoaa enough to bo diBatisfied with those qurtera, and accordingly Friday afternoon took their departure without so much as anjiits “Good by.” They accomplished their escape by digging a hole in ths east-era wall of tho yard from the inside of a abed used as a drying room for barrel stuff, crawling oofc thereat, and dropping down some _ fifteen fact to tho ground. They so disguised themselves by rubbing soot and charcoal upon their bodies and clothing, that persons who met thorn walking up the street supposed them to be machinists or blacksmiths. They were pureood op the rivor, and shot at, bat without hurt to them. At last advices they had not been captured.
