Mrs, Albert Askeland, Milford, celebrated their 4lst wedding anniversary Sunday, April 16, with a family gathering at their home. The occasion also marked the 75th birthday anniversary for Mrs. Askelands Dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Dale Svendsen, Carla and Billy, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Askeland and family, Mr. and Mrs. iDonald Lage, Sandra and Tommy, and Mrs. Ethel Lage. The group was joined by Mrs. Cora Pouisen for lunch that evening.Mr. and Mrs. Askeland were married at Spencer, April 16, 1920, and moved to Milford 331 years ago. Mr. Askeland has been a contractor fqr many years and. founded the Askeland Builders concern, now owned by their son, Clarence, following the semi-retirement of Mr. Askeland. Mr.. Askeland has continued to maintain a work shop specializing in cabinet work since turning the contracting business over to his son.[ Besides their son, Clarence, Mr.and Mrs. Askeland are the par-1 ents of two daughters, Mrs. Dale [ (Margaret] Svendsen. and Mrs. Donald (Kathryn) Lage.The couple has lived in the r same residence on Fourth Avenue southwest in Milford since 1934.is given in civil service announcement No. 9-14-3 (61).Applications for these positions will be accepted until further notice and must be filed with the ! George Rohwer, Martin Anderson, John Steinke, Elmer Kinkade, C. O. Colvin all of Milford and Mike Sheets of Okoboji served as pallbearers.Mr. Quigley, a retired laborer, came to Milford in 1935.
