.CHURCHOF MYERSTOWN CHURCH ORGANEaster 111 Years Ago Friedens Lutheran Had It Installed—Sermon Subjects in the Various Churches. }Myerstown, April IS.The old -, organ •which stood . for many years on the balcony of Friedens Lutheran church Is now used by Luther Memorial church of Tacoma, Washington. The organ Is now called, “the oldest organ ,in active use on the Pacific Coast.”’Recently a Tacoma newspaper brought It to the attention of the public and a move is now on loot to place the organ In a museum as a rare example of Orieutal art...The organ was built by. Philip Bachman, a master organ builder of the Colonial period. The members of Friedens church heard the strains of this organ for the first lime on Easter, 1820, When the present church, was built, the organ was put on the-balcony and used continuously until 1901, when the present organ was installed. In 1908 the organ was t lent to Tacoma to be used In a mis* I lion church.ball team on Friday afternoon played the first game of Its 1931 schedule with the Jonestown High school team at that place. Other games already booked are as follows: April 24, Cornwall at Myerstown; May 1, Myerstown. at South Lebanon; May S, Jonestown at Myerstown; May IB, Myerstown at Cornwall; jMay 22, South. Lebanon at Myerstown.The 1931. schedule aa prepared by Manager Stoudt, consists of ten games. This year, three new opponents will be faced. They are: Lebanon Business College, Lebanon High school and South Lebanon High.
