! —■ — ■■■ — 11Segregation—When And How?The Supreme Court took an unprecedented action this week by hearing ideas from various groups on the question of how segregation can be solved in- our schools. The Supreme Court has already ruled that segregation is not constitutional. It now has to decide when segregation will end how de-segregation will be effected in the school systems. Here in El Paso we are faced withma Whiteproblem. Misseral Court, seeking admission to Texas Western College. Under the original Supreme Court ruling it would seem that Texas Western has no legal right to refuse entrance to her. On the other hand, the segregation policy of Texas Western was in effect long before the Supreme Court action. Since the Supreme Court has only partially answered the segregation question, Miss White’s case cannot be answered immediately as representatives of the NAACP would like. It must await the final action of the highest court. But Miss White in the meantinme, might be consoled at the results of a student survey here at Texas Western. It seems that the majority of the students are not opposed to hen being admitted to the college and feel that the admittance of Negros could even be beneficial to the school. '
