Spencer Family Meets in Pleasant ReunionThe family of Samuel O. Spencer, son of the late Daniel and Mary J. Spencer, Utah .pioneers, met in a pleasant reunion Wednesday evening, April 13. The festivities were held in Mr. Spencer’s new pop corn hall factory, which was appropriately decorated for the occasion. Eighty-six of the immediate family, seven sons i and seven daughters, with their wives 1 and husbands, 24 grandchildren, four sisters with their families, among them being President Rudger Clawson, made up the assembly.When all were seated at the tables Daniel Spencer, the eldest son, made an address of welcome and offered anopening prayer, after which Fred Kohlfing read the song, lxve At Home,*’ ’ Home Thoughts” were read by Ira O. Spencer, the third son. Alma H. Spencer, the fourth son, offered the grace.After the repast the program was continued. Samuel G. Spencer addressed the assembly, giving the story of his life. President Rudger Clawson was the next speaker. He paid tributeto Mr. Spencer and his family and invoked good wishes and the blessings of Providence upon them. John Hirst spoke in similar vein.The tables were then cleared and the family grouped as show n in the accompanying pirture, after which all, young and old, joined in old time square dances. Three of Mr. Spencer’s children, Nellie, Mabel and George, furnished the music. At 11:30 p.m. John Hirst offered the closing prayer and all left with handshakes and expressions of good will.
