Laundy.Joining Mr. and Mrs. Laundy ai a family dinner at the VanEgmond tea room to night, in celebration of the occasion, will be their daughter. Miss Ruth Laundy, and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Laundy, and three children. George W„ Frank H. Jr., and Bernice Ann.Mr. and Mrs. Laundy were married at Abilina. Kansas, on April 15. 18S9. Mrs. Laundy, the former Estelle Haynes, was born at Greenville, Illinois. Mr. Laundy's birthplace Is Toronto.Not long after their marriage they moved to Schuyler, Nebraska,to the Sault in 189S and Mr. Laundy engaged in the marble and granite business, in which he is still active. The business was first located on Portage avenue before it was moved to the present location at 559 Ash-mun street about 15 years ago.In 1930 Mr. Laundy was elected to the city commission, and became mayor of the Sault in 1934. He was reelected for a second term and refused to run for a third. Outstanding among the achievements during his terms of office was the promotion of the building of the Ashmun street bridge across the canal, which was dedicated to him and the city of Sault Ste.
