Arrangement* to that effect were made this morning at a special meeting of the school board which was held In the ofT.ce of President W.F BlakeAll members were present, President Riake presiding Secretary Turpin notified the hoard that he had been served with a notice of condemnation I of the Washington srhool building, bv I'the building commissioner. In the ' face of this action by the city official,the board was compelled to provide ! other quarters for the school until theclose of the present year, therefore the Swedish Lutheran school building was rented. This building is not In Hibernia. but it Is the nearest structure large enough for school purposes. ] The mechanics who w«nt over the f buiidSAg. and the Insurance adjusterwho adjusted the fire loss last Ratur-:day. reported that the walls of the Washington school are In good condl-, lion and that a new roof will put it ,n practically as good repal** as ever, inspite of the fact that the hulldlng com- ‘ ndsKtoner condemned it The hoard «was of the opinion that they should protect the huildlng and contents andaccordingly Instructed the buildingcommittee to take su *h measures as I soon as possible It likely that a temporary roof will he pi teed over the i -vail so as to p;event damage by the ielements.
