Alverda RummelAlverda H. (Patterson) Rummel, 94, of Greenwich, Indiana County, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.The daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Cook) Patterson, she was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Green Township.Alverda attended the Alverda Faith Tabernacle Church.She was a homemaker who had also been employed as a potato harvester at Lute’s Farm, in Westover, and at a nursery in Pine Flats.Alverda enjoyed gardening and sewing rag rugs.She married her late husband, Morris “Fuzzy” Rummel Sr., on April 16,1936.Alverda is survived by her seven children: Margaret Mano and husband Albert Sr., of Commodore; Ronald Rummel and wife Vicki (Stevens), of Cherry Tree; Shirley Peel and husband Gary, of Cherry Tree; MarleneicKond Inlin nfCherry Tree; Gary Rummel and wife Deb (Patterson), of Clymer; and Randy Rummel and wife Deb (Morgan), of Northern Cambria; 30 grandchildren; numerous great-and great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Long, of Warren, Ohio; and a brother, Lawrence Patterson, and wife Pat, of Clymer.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1986; five children: Iva Keith, Betty Jean Rummel, Ernest Rummel, Morris Rummel Jr. and Raymond Rummel; and seven siblings: AnnabellLydic, Laura Shaffer and Jacob, Floyd, Ernest, Martha and Rose Patterson.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd., in Hillsdale, where an 11 a.m. funeral service will be held Monday.
