Entries Present TalentsFestival of Beauties Prepare for ContestMiss Georgia, Miss Thomas County and 13 other younglovlies will appear on the stage of the Municipal Auditorium Monday night as the Jaycees officially open the 1966 RoseFestival with their Rose QueenPageant.Mary Jane Yates of Savannah, the reigning Miss Geor gia, will make a personal ap-ptarance during the evening to sing, thus demonstra mg the talent which helped her win the state title at Columbus last summer. She will also present the Miss Congeniality trophy.A well-known local queen, Miss Mary Jo Smith of Cool-ldge, the current Miss Thomas County, will also appear on the program ^nd will crown her successor as the climax of the event.Thirteen young ladies are competing for the Rose Queen title this yearrTffley will appear on stage in swimsuits and evening gowns, and also present 3-mlnute talent routines.An official Miss America Pageant, the Rose Queen contest will follow the rules of the state and national pageants. The new winner will represent Thomas County inthe 1966 Miss Georgia Pageant this summer.Emcee for the occasion will be Roy Weissinger. WCTV, Tallahassee, and out-of-town judges will select the wipper and runnerup.Along with the title and the trophy, the new Miss Thomas County will receive a $250 scholarship plus gift certificates, a portrait of herself and luggage.The first runnerup will re-cevie a trophy and $100 scholarship, and the second runnerup will get a trophy.All of the* .contestants receive swim 'Vttfs from their sponsors and official Miss America charm bracelets fromthe Jaycees.Contestants in this year’s Rose Queen Pageant are:Angela Barbara Homesley, Mary Ann Kennedy, Glenda Ann Speck, Sarah Delores Davis, Margaret MacKay Flowers, Mary Ellen McDonald Smith, Lois Elizabeth Lanier Deborah Lee Clark.
