BETTY GALLANT Tel. 623-8733Police Keep Vigil Near Wrecked PlaneWASHINGTON — Police Chief John DeAngelus is having members of his force guard the wreckage of the airplane that crashed here Sunday night until the insurance investigation is completed. The constables are maintaining their vigil night and day.During the night, they stand guard in four-hour shifts. A tent and sleeping bags have been loaned to the police by David Levernoch.The plane, a Piper Cherokee, came to earth on the property of C. A R. Simmons on Stone-house Road. Serious injuries resulted to the pilot. Robert Breen, 25, of Providence, R.I., who had been flying the plane from Smithfield, R.I., to Watertown, N.Y., and to two Army privates, George McNamee, 20, of Providence, R.I., and Alex Mazika, 20, of Johnstown, R.I.People hen* became aware of the crashed plane only when Breen emerged from the woods at 7 a.m. Monday at the home of Mrs. Charlotte Morgan on Beech Road Mrs. Morgan headed a searching party along with Ralph Cormier and Allen Anthony of Hinsdale, and the group found the other two victims in the plane wreckage around 9:30 a.m., after a walk of some two miles.Mrs. Edward W. Beier served coffee to volunteer searchers.
