Edward Schimcek, 57. of.El 'Campo, formerly of Weimar, was struck by a car and killed about 1 a.m. Saturday on Farm Road 960, 3l* miles north of El Campo.The driver of the car did not stop. Highway Patrolman M. E. McLaughlin said, but a 16-year-old El Campo boy surrendered to him about noon Saturday, admitting he was the driver.McLaughlin said Schimcek’s body was discovered by another motorist about half an hour after he was hit.Buried HereFuneral services were held Monday afternoon in the El Campo Catholic Church, and burial was in St. MichaeLs Cemetery at Weimar, with Father Patrick Marron officiating.Pallbearers were Robert McCoskey, Eugene Salusek, Alfred Schimcek. Fred Wan jura, A. Triska. and Erroi Janak.Mr. Schimcek was born in -the-Weimar-rural-area-June 10, 1914, a son of Frank and Martha Schimcek, and had lived at Er Campo the past 20 years, doing farm work.He is survived by his wife, the former Josephine Schenk ; four sons. Curtis and Martin of El Campo, Charles ofRosenberg and Marvin of Texas City; three daughters, Mrs. James (Irene) Sedlock, Mrs. Errol (Earline) Janak, and Miss Mary Ann Schimcek, all of El Campo; 13grandchildren;' two sisters. Mrs. Minnie Ulrich and Mrs. Fred Wanjura of Weimar, Mrs. Ernest Thumarin, of Houston; and three brothers, Charlie of Weimar and Bennie and Emil^f J3rookIyn, N. Y.
