Mrs. Augusta KoetheShe’s nearing 90Mrs Augusta Koethe, a resident of Bethany-St Joseph Nursing Home, will celebrate her 90th birthday Saturday with an open house reception in the home of a granddaughter. Mrs Carol Parker. 3154 S 29th Court, from 2 to 5 p m Mrs Koethe was born April 16, 1887 She married Paul Spah and they had nine children, eight still living They operated three taverns in La Crosse before his death After her first husband’s death she married Henry Koethe on March 2, 1939 She has 39 grandchildren, more than 90 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchil-dren Her children are Helen Diedrich, Rockland, 111 ; Bernice Merfield, Dorothy Alexander, Jim and Tom Spah, all of La Crosse; and Cecilia Stillwell, Alice Peterson and Charles Spah, all of Everett.
