Diehl observed their golden wpcjding anniversary with open house held Sunday April 6. from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Farm Bureau bpilding in Grundy Center..Ruth W. Sherbon and Charles E. Diehl were married April 2, 1008 at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Sherbon, in Melrose township by Rev. E. E. Heltibridle. They spent alt their married life on the Melrose township farm until Sept. 1943 when they moved to Grundy Center.Mr- and Mrs. Diehl are the parents of lour sons—Myron Harold, Homer and Melvin, all living in .Grundy county. There are 9 grandchildren.The serving tabic was centered by a miniature bride and groom on a Swiss music box surrounded by gold mums and smilax with gold candies on either side.Assisting with the serving in the kitchen were Mrs. Raymond Newell, Mrs. Arlhur Sicmsen ) Mrs. Keith Bailey and Mi\s\j Gertrude Mooty.Mrs. Henry Sprague, a sister 1 of Mr. Diehl was at the coffee service and Mrs. Floyd Thompson, a niece of Mr.s Diehl served the punch.- Sharon and Marilyn Diehl, granddaughters, carer’for the gifts and Darrell and Charles Diehl were in charge of the guest book.
