Nieces and nephews of Mr. and Mrs. Lakey will be hosts for the open house.Mr. Lakey and Miss Bertha Hus-tead were married April 17. 1905. in the Duncanville home of the bride's parents. Mr and Mrt. Frank Hustead. The Husteads were pioneer settlers of Dallas County.Mr. Lakey met his wife when she was attending the Girl's Industrial School (now TSCW). Mrs. Lakey was a student in the first class of the college. She is an active life member of the Woman's Shakespeare Club and a member of the Elective Study department. She has been active in the women's organizations at the First Methodist Church.Mr. Lakey came to Denton in 1895 from Winston Salem, N. C. He was employed at the Alliance Milling Company 23 years, from 18% to 1919 In 1919 Mr. Lakey left the mill and began to do building and contracting. He did work on the Southern Hotel, First Methodist Church, First Baptist Church and the Lee School.The couple have been active in the civic life of Denton and Mr. Lakey served on the City Commission for four years.
