Among those who started work were D. Gascoigne in the mile; Joe Reilly and Coops are trying out in the shot put, and Brock and Matson are busy hurling the discus. Ten candidates are competing in the dashes tnd hurdles: Meigs, Brock, Groves, Licht, Joseph L. Bloodgood, C. Erioodgood. Bitney, J. Reilly, Mar-key and Christianson . . . U. L. Anderson of Rockwell, la., has arrived in the city and will make his home here in the future. Mr. Anderson will open a real estate office here in the near future. His family will arrive about May 1 . . . Miss Wilma Bliss returned this morning from a visit of several days with friends and relatives at Iroquois . . . E. S. Olson of Dell Rapids has accepted a position with the Huronite and will represent this paper and its job plant in the local field . . . Mrs. Ross Miller left for her home in Pierre after a visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Vance . . . Miss Carrie Cornish, who has been visiting at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Sheeks, returned to her home at Lake Preston this morning.
