IMr. Rawson was the son of Bela and Harriet Nicholas Rawson and was horn in this city. October 19, ISIS When he was six years old his parents moved to PMsfield and Mr Rawson attended school in that town, until he was old enough to work on the farm. When he was 19 years old ihe came to Elyria and ihas lhed here ever since.When be came to Elyria he first learned the tinner's trade and followed it for a number of years. His next venture was In the laundry ‘business which lie followed until aibout ten years ago, when he formed the Rawson Electric Co. and became its ihead. Mr. Rawson invented a number of improvements for telephone switchboards and it was through bis efforts that the Independent telephone companies throughout Ohio and Tsew York were formed Se-veral years ago tie turned his many patents into the Dean Electric Co. and became its president Beside being a successful business man, Mr. Rawon was well known in many charitable enterprises as well as a liberal supporter of churches, although he never affiliated himself with any one.
