From Grand Traverse and the Straits.—Nrt Curtiss, overseer for Messrs Hannah Lay, Co., nt Grand Traverse, has just arrived from that place, which he left on the 29th of March. At that place the ice was fourteen inches thick in the Bay, and people wore crossing from the Islands to the main hind, which has not been the case before for many years. The cold weather has been very severe there end continued during his journey till to-day. lie thinks that vessels'can not pass the Striilts of Mackinac before the first of May,—Chi' oaco Tribune April 7,
