From Grand Traverse and the Straits.—Mr, Curtiss, overseer for Messrs Han n nit Lay, Co., m Grand Traverse, has just arrived from that place, which he left on the 20th of March. At that place the ice was fourteen inches thick tn the Buy, and people were crossing from the Islands to the main land, which has not been the ease before for many years. The cold weather has been very severe there and continued during his journey till to-duy. lie thinks that vessels cannot pass the'Straits, of Mackinac before the first of May.—Chi' oaco Tribune April 7.
